The DesignLab

Pasadena, CA. 2016

As the home to esteemed institutions of design and technology, such as Caltech, ArtCenter College of Design, and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena has long stood as a creative hub. Within this vibrant landscape, the Supplyframe DesignLab emerges as a playground for innovation, providing artists, designers, and engineers a 4,900 sq. ft. space dedicated to cutting-edge creativity in technology and design.
The DesignLab serves as a leading-edge creative center, fostering the birth of new ideas. Its multifunctional design includes spaces for brainstorming, rapid prototyping, and fabrication, alongside a gallery and assembly space for community events. In contrast to current workplace design trends that often prioritize light, airy, and warm environments, The DesignLab intentionally embraces a stark, industrial, and serious aesthetic, specified to encourage the raw energy necessary for the creative process.
